Tickets for UFC 87 will be on sale Sunday, May 25th at 12:00pm CST. The prices range from next to nothin’ at $50.00 to an entire paycheck at $600.00.
Initially, it was thought that UFC Hall-of-Famer Mark “The Hammer” Coleman would be headlining the show against uber-tough Brock Lesnar. Rumors on the net hint that this will not be the main event and something even bigger will instead fill the slot. Kenny “Ken-Flo” Florian, who has been on a tear as of late, will take on a Minnesota native in Roger “El Matador” Huerta in a battle that some are calling fight of the year.
Other bouts not confirmed by the UFC are Cheick Kongo vs Dan Evensen, Luke Cummo vs Tamdan McCrory, Damien Maia vs Jason MacDonald and George Sotiropolous is rumored to be on the card as well.
The UFC is planning on venturing out as much as possible into not only new states, but new countries. Australia, The Philippines and Mexico are future locations. Atlanta Georgia will likely host UFC 88 in September. After speaking with Mr. J. Walsh of the Iowa Athletic Commission, he stated nothing has been brought to his attention as of yet, but said that he welcomes the idea of the UFC coming in the future.
Personally, I’ve been on both sides of the country for the UFC. There is nothing I’d like better than to have it in my own back yard. Wells Fargo Arena, make some calls!
***UPDATE*** Clay “The Carpenter” Guida has been rumored to be fighting Frankie “The Answer” Edgar at this show as well.

Kevin “Fire” Burns (5-1) expected an all out blood-bath against Bobby Voelker (13-3) at May 9th’s Victory Fighting Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Luckily, Burns escaped the cage unscathed in less than a minute with a brutal KO that left Voelker wobbly even after exiting the cage. Burns, known for his ground game, had not had a TKO since 2006 against the always exciting Demi Deeds. This leaves us with two questions. Where does Burns stand now? And who will he face next?
Only one way to find out. …STAY TUNED!

I was ringside for the action as one of three judges. I kept track of the results so you could read it here first!
- Richard Blake vs Rakeem “Kongo” Hedrington
Hedrington wins by way of Unanamous Decision. - Chad Zurfluh vs Alex Harper
Harper wins by way of triangle at 3:08 in RD2 - Jacob Ritchie vs Will “Fury” Shutt
Shutt wins by way of verbal submission due to strikes at 1:08 in RD1 - Nick “The Gentleman” Walker vs TJ “The Spider” O’Brien
O’Brien wins by way of triangle at 2:03 in RD1. - Chuck Rainey vs Ronnie “Getting Older but still pretty Warfrog”
Britt wins by way of guillotine at 4:07 in RD2 - Doug “No Mercy” Onstot vs Josh Christenson
I’m still a little confused on the result of this one. Originally declared a no contest because of an illegal scratch or thumb to the eye. Then the call was reversed and Christenson did get the win. I was unable to get clarification except for the fact that Christenson won. - Jake Brown vs Paul “The Gingerbread Man” Bird
Bird won by way of armbar at 3:40 in RD1 - Michael Johnson vs Ted “Red” Worthington
-My personal favorite fight of the night with back and fourth action
Worthington won by way of triangle at 1:29 in RD3 - TJ “The Spider” O’Brien vs Will “Fury” Shutt
O’Brien takes the featherweight number 1 contender with a triangle at 50 seconds in RD1 - Zac Cummings vs Victor “Superman” Moreno
Cummings won by way of Kimura at 2:19 in RD2

Jacob Stahler, the man known as “The Mouth of the Midwest” will attempt to join the big leagues May 30th with his first pro MMA show. Dubbed “Inception” which literally translates to “beginning,” makes perfect sense for a guy that is no new-comer to MMA. Jacob has announced shows all over the Midwest and as far as Canada. “The Mouth’s” first taste as an announcer was a hole-in-the-wall bar known as Toad Holler where youngsters like Josh Neer, Jeremy Stephens, John Halverson, and Brian Green threw their first punches.
Inception features a stacked card including a main event of Demi “The Public Enemy” Deeds (12-4) vs Shonie “Mr. International” Carter (73-17-7) Many promoters only dream of having a guy like Shonie headline their inaugural event. With Stahler’s extensive resume, he was able to score some exciting fighters including Jay Estrada, Bobby Martinez and Davion Peterson. The fans can anticipate a night filled with blood, sweat, tears and a lot of action!
The event is being held at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, Indiana – approximately 30 minutes from Chicago. Tickets are now available at www.ticketmaster.com ranging from $20.00 up to $95.00 or you can visit www.PrimetimeFC.com for additional information.

Victory Jay continues to do what he does best. His last show sent the uber-tough Ryan Roberts to UFC Fight Night 13. Previous shows sent Chad Reiner, Ryan Jensen, Spencer Fisher and many more to the big show.
May 9th will showcase two exciting, well-known fighters from the Midwest. Bobby Voelker (13-3) is set to face Kevin “Fire” Burns (4-1) as the nights main event. Both fighters have faced some of the best competition around; will we see another Midwesterner get a chance in the Octagon?
Be sure to make it to the Mid-America Center on May 9th to see how this epic battle ends. Will Burns blaze through Voelker or will Bobby put an end to Kevins hot road to victory?
Tickets range from $25.00 to $80.00 and can be purchased on ticketmaster.com. Visit www.victoryfighter.com for additional info on the fight card and upcoming events.

Des Moines, IA- March 21, 2008- Victor “Superman” Moreno, former Midwest Cage Championship (MCC) welterweight champion, returns to the cage to settle a grudge match with local up and comer Ben Crowder on Friday, April 25. Moreno has faced some of the toughest competitors across the country during his five year pro career.” I’m more excited about this bout than anything and anyone I’ve faced throughout my career.” stated a confident Moreno. Crowder, a well known and tough competitor, has a reputation for his heavy hands and ” I’ll take on anyone, anytime” attitude. He’s looks to boost that reputation with a big win over “Superman”. Both fighters have pledged this fight will not go the distance and there is bound to be plenty of fireworks with an unfortunate ending for one of these warriors.
